Disney World – Planning – Lightning Lane

By |October 2nd, 2025|Categories: Feature, Tree Travel|Tags: , , , |

As we are preparing to leave for Disney World this weekend, last Sunday we continued our never boring and always worthwhile planning (see my previous posts if you are confused!) and booked our Lightning Lane for our entire trip and for our whole party!  What is Lightning Lane?  Lightning Lane is the timed entry to certain rides (it used to be called Genie Plus and before that there were Fast Passes) and is basically a paid skip-the line service. A lot of people dislike this pass system because it is more money on top of park tickets – but in [...]

Disney World – Planning – Food Part 3 – Victoria and Alberts!

By |September 25th, 2025|Categories: Feature, Tree Travel|Tags: , , , |

So, in my last two posts I covered planning for eating at Disney World. In the last post I noted that there are over 200 restaurants on property to choose from. And there are a lot of great places to eat. For most people just eating in the parks themselves is all they ever need to be happy (and satisfied!) But when you are a WDW regular and you want to expand your food horizons there are a bunch of great options in the on property resorts to choose from. And you will find almost any type of food you [...]

Disney World – Planning Food Part 2 – The Places to Eat

By |September 18th, 2025|Categories: Feature, Tree Travel|Tags: , , |

As I mentioned in the last post, planning for dining at Disney World (and all Disney Parks) is a must if you want to experience the best or most fun places to eat in the parks. There are a lot of options for restaurant choices, how many you ask, there are over 200 places to eat. And if you count snack carts and other snack places the number is more like 400. For table service the number is well over 100. So, while that sounds like a lot and you might think that a reservation isn’t necessary – think again [...]

Disney World – Planning Food

By |September 11th, 2025|Categories: Feature, Tree Travel|Tags: , , |

I can’t wait because in 24 days, I will be at Disney World (not that I’m counting)!!  So how do we plan our Disney World trips?  In June, I did a blog about Disney planning for dates, hotels and park tickets so you can look back at that.  But in this post, I want to talk about planning for meals and over the next few weeks I will talk about other planning. Why meals specifically? It’s pretty simple – unless you want to exist on popcorn, quick serve burgers, tiger tails and all the other snack food that is readily available [...]

Nashville – Music City!

By |August 29th, 2025|Categories: Feature, Tree Travel|Tags: , , |

I have visited Nashville many times between various conferences and one of my best friends lives there and so it continues to be a city that I love to visit over and over.  When I do visit, I always love to take in the music aspects of what is known as “Music City”.  I’m sure you can guess why Nashville is called Music City but in case you don’t know, it has some very deep music roots.  The nickname “Music City” has been in place since 1925!   There are a lot of reasons to visit Nashville as it [...]

Milwaukee

By |August 21st, 2025|Categories: Feature, Tree Travel|Tags: , , |

They call Milwaukee the “Cream City” which I didn’t understand at all (and I will tell you why at the end).  I recently visited Milwaukee for a conference and went in a day early, so I had some time to explore.  In addition, as part of the conference we did a sunrise walk and even took a boat tour which gave me a much better perspective of the city.  Since I only was there 4 days and some of it was at a conference, I didn’t have time to explore everything there was to be explored.I did enjoy the city [...]
