Disneyland Paris – Part 2 – More Planning
As I told you last week, we are doing our first international trip where we visit a Disney Park! By the time you are reading this, we should be a week out from our time at Disneyland Paris and enjoying some time in Nice! I wanted to tell you a few things that I noticed when booking my Disneyland Paris trip vs visiting a Disney Park in the US.
Disneyland Paris has a few new “worlds” that opened right at the end of March, so I guess our timing was good for our trip. They have the World of Frozen and Adventure Way. The World of Frozen is part of the newly renamed Disney Adventure World. Adventure World also includes Avengers Assemble, 2 Cars Rides – a Rally Ride and a Road Trip, Frozen Ever After, RC Racer, Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille, Slinky Dog Spin, Spider Man WEB Adventure and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. In Disneyland Park you can find rides like It’s a Small World, Autopia, Big Thunder Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo Indiana Jones, Carousel, Pinocchio, Tea Cups, Peter Pan’s Flight, Phantom Manor (Haunted Mansion), Pirates of the Caribbean, Hyperspace Mountain and of course the Disneyland Railroad. There are a lot of similarities to Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom!
Since we will only be there 2 days, we decided to purchase the Disney Premier Access Ultimate passes. This will give us access to every attraction at both parks once per day! We had to buy it for both days, but it was way less expensive than the Lightning Lane Options at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, so we thought it was worth it! (I wrote in past blogs about Lightning Lane options at both parks in the US). Our total cost for both of us for both days was only about $900 US. In comparison, Lightning Lane Premier at Disneyland Park can be over $750 for 1 day for 2 people! And at Disney World its by park, per person, per day and the cost is crazy.
The other advantage to the Premier Access Ultimate Pass is that you don’t have to pre-book the attractions. You can just “skip the line” and enjoy the ride. So, we will see how it works…since Disneyland Paris doesn’t use Magic Bands, we will have to scan the QR code on our phone for each attraction.
I have also noticed that the Disneyland Paris app is not as advanced at either Disneyland or Walt Disney World apps. I have had to call Disneyland Paris to confirm my dining since, as I told you last week, it was not shown on the app. I also noticed that dates on the app were wrong after I purchased the Premier Access and wanted to confirm that it used the correct dates. This might be because I am still in the US, but it already is a little frustrating.
More to come on our France and Disneyland Paris adventures in future posts!
